About HIACS

Our Mission

The Mission of the Hatikvah International Academy Charter School is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young citizens in order to promote a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Anchored by the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, the school promotes tolerance, understanding and appreciation for people from different backgrounds. Through the in-depth study of Modern Hebrew delivered in part using the model of the International Baccalaureate curriculum (IB), inquiry-based instruction, the school continually develops and implements an innovative child-centered curriculum which is monitored with appropriate authentic and rigorous assessments to help our students become good citizens of our local community, country, and world. Children from all cultures, religions and ethnicities will be able to exist within one community while maintaining individual identities and pride.

Our School Building and Grounds

Our K-8 program is housed in a 55,000 square foot building that includes a Learning Commons, multi-purpose room, lunchroom, robotics room, science labs, art rooms, music room, and a classroom for drama.  Each classroom has a Smartboard.  Outdoors, there are wooded grounds, two playgrounds, and a full soccer field.  In partnership with the East Brunswick Police Department and East Brunswick Emergency Management, safety and security have always been our first priority.  The school has newer HVAC systems and monitors fresh airflow in the building in real time.
